چکیده
American tree frog Hypsiboas punctatus, an amphibian that exhibits natural fluorescence. Carlos Taboada et al. traced the frog’s fluorescence to a class of compounds called hyloins, and found that in low-light conditions the fluorescence substantially enhances the brightness of individuals and matches the sensitivity of amphibian night vision. Effect of Hypothermia by JZL-184 on Muscle Strength and Sensory-Motor Dysfunction in Permanent Middle Cerebral Artery Ischemia Model in Male Mice
Introduction: Currently, there is no effective and comprehensive treatment for ischemic stroke. There is strong clinical evidence for the benefits of hypothermia in neuroprotection. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the effect of mild non-invasive hypothermia by JZL-184 on behavioral improvement in stroke rats. Methods: This study was performed on 5 groups of male mice weighing 2...
متن کاملAlpha-1 antitrypsin, retinol binding protein and keratin 10 alterations in patients with psoriasis vulgaris, a proteomic approach
Objective(s):Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that appears on the skin. Although psoriasis is clinically and histologically well characterized, its pathogenesis is unknown in detail. The aims of this study were to evaluate the proteome of psoriatic patients' sera and to compare them with those of normal healthy human to find valuable biomarkers. Materials and Methods: In a case-control study,...
متن کاملAlpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency alleles are not associated with cervical artery dissections.
The authors searched for the presence of alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency alleles PiZ and PiS in 74 patients with spontaneous cervical artery dissections (sCADs) and in 74 healthy control subjects. In both groups, the authors found four carriers of deficiency alleles. The connective tissue morphology of one additional patient with sCAD with PiZM genotype and her relatives was studied in ski...
متن کاملAlpha-1 antitrypsin regulates neutrophil reactive oxygen species production via inhibition of key players of the respiratory burst oxidase system
Background Activation of neutrophils sequestered in the alveolar milieu can cause the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS), increasingly regarded as key substances modulating epithelium dysfunction and disruption. These oxidants are generated by the neutrophil respiratory burst oxidase system that reduces molecular oxygen (O2) to superoxide (O2-). Alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency (AATD)...
متن کاملExpression of Recombinant Alpha-1 Antitrypsin in CHO and COS-7 Cell Lines Using Lentiviral Vector
In this study, in order to facilitate and accelerate the production of eukaryotic protein alpha 1-antitrypsin (AAT) with correct post-translational modifications, a protein production system based on the transduction of CHO and COS-7 cells using lentiviral vectors was developed. Human AAT cDNA was cloned into a replication-defective lentiviral vector. The transgene AAT-Jred chimer was transferr...
